Areteia was founded on a single conviction: that talent is not a privilege of birth. A spark of genius can appear anywhere — in a village without electricity, in a household in crisis, in a child who has never once been told they are capable of greatness.
We call these children Emergents: young people whose intellectual brilliance or spiritual maturity has already begun to break through the limits of their circumstance. Our task is simple to state and difficult to do — find them, and give them the structural support to finish breaking through.
